NABOR Committees

A committee’s primary function is to contribute to the economy and efficiency of the Board -- to provide programs, products, and services that best meet members’ needs and are cost effective.

Committees are the lifeblood of an association because they provide:

  • forums for ideas
  • vision for the future
  • accomplish the majority of an association’s work

Types of NABOR Committees
NABOR has two basic types of committees, and each type fulfills a specific function, as charged:

·         Standing committees (members are appointed annually by the President and subject to the approval of the Board of Directors)

·      Special Committees (open to both REALTORÒ and affiliate members)

Note: The Committee Chairman: Must be a REALTORÒ member in good standing.  All committee chairs sign a Committee Commitment form along with acknowledgement of the job description/impact on NABOR budget and attend “Chairman” training at least once (held annually).  Committees are the lifeblood of the Board. They provide forums for ideas and visioning, and they accomplish the majority of the Board’s work. But, committees are only as good as the committed volunteers who serve on them.  Each member office of the Board should nominate at least one member to serve on each committee to help accomplish the Board’s objectives and to ensure that their opinions and concerns are addressed.

All committee meetings are conducted in accordance with Robert’s Rules of Order.  Each Committee has a separate goal description with budget impact.  A library of “minutes/agendas” is maintained in the NABOR Conference Room; electronic dissemination is available by arrangement.
